September 11, 2025– Lessengers’ linear drive 800G near-packaged optics (“NPOs”) optical engine was featured in Alphawave Semi’s demonstration at the AI Infra Summit 2025, highlighting a breakthrough in serviceability for on-board optics.

Traditional on-board optics raise a critical concern: how to repair or replace a component if it fails.

Lessengers addresses this challenge with a socket-type, pluggable optical engine design that allows straightforward replacement, enabling easier maintenance and reducing system downtime.

Key Features of the Lessengers 800G NPO optical engine:

  • Detachable, socket-type design for repairability and serviceability
  • 8 × 112G PAM4 electrical interfaces
  • Ultra-low energy consumption (<7 pJ/bit)
  • Pluggable optical interface with standard 2×MT12 fiber
  • Immersion cooling readiness
  • Proven BER stability at 100 m reach

By combining high-performance optical connectivity with practical serviceability, Lessengers is demonstrating that NPO is ready for scalable, real-world AI/ML infrastructure. The demo was presented live at the Alphawave Semi's booth, further validating the potential of NPO and optical I/O as essential technologies for the future of AI infrastructure.
